SKF pillow or plummer blocks are commonly used in areas where space is limited. They are designed with an insert bearing made from stainless steel and are mounted in housing. As this bearing is part of SKF's Food Line Range the housing is made from reinforced polypropylene which is food safe and suitable for wet environments.
Features and Benefits
- Suitable for use in wet conditions because the bearing is housed in reinforced polypropylene.
- Hygienic design features make the units perfectly suited for food and beverage applications.
- Resistant to chemical detergents and contaminants to ensure long-lasting use.
Typical Applications
Pillow block ball bearing units are typically used in smaller areas with limited space. Some applications of pillow blocks include more lightweight applications rather than heavy loads.
What are pillow blocks designed for?
Pillow or plummer blocks are designed to safely mount a bearing that lets its outer ring not move but allows the inner ring to rotate. The housing is bolted by holes in the base and the bearing housings can be either split type or solid type.
