This hard-wearing thrust ball bearing from SKF is designed to reduce friction between a machine's moving parts. It's made of bearing-type steel that provides long-lasting durability and corrosion resistance. A series of smooth balls in a band around a perimeter allow the bearing to support the axial thrust of both horizontal and vertical shafts. You can use it to control rotational motion and for functions like connecting a rotating shaft to a stationary motor.

How does this thrust bearing work?

It works by transferring thrust loads applied on the shaft and preventing the shaft from drifting in a horizontal or vertical direction. Thrust bearings are generally seated against a raised collar around the shaft. The thrust collar allows the axial load to be transferred from the shaft to the bearing. Thrust bearings are typically used in pairs on each side of the thrust collar.
