The Makita UV001G is a powerful and lightweight lawn scarifier designed to efficiently remove thatch layers and scarify the topsoil. This process enables better penetration of nutrients, water, and oxygen into the soil, ultimately enhancing overall lawn health throughout the year. The spring tine assembly is intended to gently remove thatch layers and lift lateral growth before mowing, preventing the lawn from becoming spongy and matted. The scarifying assembly features robust blades that cut into the topsoil more aggressively, removing and lifting thatch while also thinning out the root zone of the lawn, promoting the growth of healthier, stronger roots. You can easily adjust the height from +5mm down to -12mm in 18 increments, allowing you to operate the blades effectively for your specific needs without harming the lawn. Visible height indicators at 5, 0, -4, -8, and -12mm make it easy to identify the current height and adjust accordingly. For convenient storage when not in use, quick-release handles allow for a compact footprint, and the scarifier is only 550mm long without the grass catcher attached.
